The Employment Resource Specialist is responsible for ensuring that graduates of theRise and Shine Bakery three-month training program find and keep jobs that use theirindividual strengths and skills learned in the training. This position will focus oncultivating strong relationships with local employers in the baking and culinary fieldsand facilitating job placement for the trainees with those employers. This role will beinstrumental in identifying job opportunities, promoting the skills of graduates andensuring alignment between training outcomes and employer needs. The Employment Resource Specialist will manage our graduate supportive employment program for the first three months of the graduate’s on-the job employment and track graduates’ progress for a year.
Job Objectives
The Employment Resources Specialist will be required to meet the goal of having allRise and Shine students apply, interview, obtain and maintain employment. The needsfor specific supportive employment services will be determined by the EmploymentResource Specialist and implemented for each client, thereby creating the opportunityfor sustainable employment. This position reports directly to the Program Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities• Establish trusting and collaborative relationships with clients.• Assist clients in knowing the pertinent information regarding their benefits and how employment will impact those benefits. Teach clients how to report earnings as needed.• Assess Clients’ vocational functioning using their background information and work experiences.• Work with the Program Manager and clients to create case plans that overcome existing barriers and achieve clients’ goals.• Create client job search goals and requirements, assist with applications as needed.• Working with the Rise and Shine team, create opportunities for mock interviews and practicing the skills that enhance employability.• Identify prospective employers and build relationships with those employers who have relevant positions for Rise and Shine graduates. Educate employers regarding the Rise and Shine program objectives. Share individual applicant strengths.• Maintain employer partnerships by staying in contact, conducting surveys that clarify employer needs and expectations and by assessing how Rise and Shine trainees are performing on the job.• Provide timely interventions and supportive employment resources as needed by graduates on the job.• Manage components of our post graduate three-month supportive employment program to meet the requirements of each participating employer, create a data base to coordinate and track individual graduates’ needs for support to meet employer partner expectations. Send weekly updates to employer partners.• Work with Program manager to build retention strategies with the goal of having two years of uninterrupted employment for clients.• Track data on all client employment outcomes.• Provide regular reports to program leadership on job placement metrics, employer feedback and needed improvements.• Organize job fairs, hiring events networking opportunities that bring employers and graduates together.• Stay updated on local employment laws and regulations that affect hiring practices.• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Work Force Development, BusinessAdministration or a related field.Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in work force development, employment services,or recruitment.Familiarity with the baking, culinary or hospitality fields and the jobs roles in thoseareas.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectivelywith a diverse range of stakeholders.Proficient in computer skills and Excel spreadsheets.Passion about helping individuals succeed in their careers.
